This is the post I've been waiting to write since I created this website in October of 2020. After ten years of researching, writing, revising, (and procrastinating) I am pleased to share with you that I am DONE writing my book.

My basement writing nook.
I'd like to think that the hard part is over. But I'm not so sure. What's next?
I am currently proofreading the manuscript to ensure that the narrative flows and making slight edits for clarity. I did a lot of this during the process, so I haven't found too many glaring mistakes. I need to secure rights for any photos I might want to use as well as scan and edit personal photos.
I'll soon turn it over to a small publishing company on the west coast who will provide copy editing, text formatting, as well as set me up so my book is available for print on demand purchase through independent book stores as well as bigger online retailers. The company is very author-friendly, professional, and transparent. I was told the process could take anywhere from 3-6 months.
What did Tom Petty once say? Oh, yeah. "The waiting is the hardest part."
Not the writing. The waiting.
So, that's my update for now. In the coming months, I look forward to sharing details about this new stage of my book with you. With any luck, it will be available for you to read by the end of the summer. Thanks for your support and good thoughts so far.
Until next time!
